On my way to hike the Falljökull glacier in East Iceland, I was saw this mountain with its tiny farm house at its base. It seemed idyllic to me, and the farmhouse showed how immense the mountain was. I imagined winter nights in there, cozy fire roaring as the wind howled. But that October day it stood serenely against the stark and treeless beauty of the volcanic peaks above.
