COMING SOON! The Vagabond Adventure kicked off with a journey though the northeastern United States into maritime Canada, covering New York, Vermont, Maine, Nova Scotia and Newfoundland. Following a bit of “shore leave”, the Vagabonds caught the Night Train West towards Badlands, South Dakota, Wyoming, Utah, California, and Baja Mexico. Many of the stories from these days are told through the Vagabond Dispatches, a collection of articles sharing personal experiences about the unique people and places. Days 1 through 152. The Adventure continued in North America on Day 367, complicated a bit by Hurricane Ian, with stops through Belize and Panama on the way to South America. View the Gallery

North America

Following the crisscrossing of North America, the Adventurers took to the sea aboard Queen Mary heading for England on their first visit to Europe (Days 231 - 242, 261 - 318). After debarking in Southampton, the Adventure would move to London before aiming south for Morocco. Paris and Madrid were brief stops along the way. After a return from Morocco, the Adventure moved back north, more deliberately this time, through Portugal, Spain again, and France. The second visit to Europe followed departure from Buenos Aires (Day 537) en route to Lisbon.

The first excursion to Africa was a dipping of the toes in Morocco, Days 243 - 260. It was short trip to whet the appetite for a return voyage.

The first trip to the southern hemisphere began out of Miami on Day 367. Hurricane Ian created some drama along the way, including arranging further transportation south more difficult. The Adventure arrived in Columbia Day 374 for a long trip through Ecuador, Peru, Chile, and Argentina before hitting the Drake Passage for Antarctica (Day 591). The Adventure would leave from Buenos Aires to Lisbon Day 537.

It’s one of the most exotic places on Earth and one of the most spectacular. The excursion to the seventh continent covered Days 519-528, the shortest of the Vagabond Adventure on any continent. But we got full value for our time, as you’ll see in this gallery. The route took us from Ushuaia Argentina through the Drake Passage to Petermann Island and Danco Island, then through the Lemaire Channel to Paradise Harbor and finally Mikkelsen Harbor before returning to Ushuaia.
