Drifting Down the Brahmaputra

Hello from the wild, wonderful stretch of India between Sivasagar and the South 24 Parganas! We’ve drifted along the mighty Brahmaputra, watching fishermen cast nets at sunrise and exploring some of the tiny villages in this frontier near the China border. Wonderful people!

The Sukapha carried us through green fields, and past children waving from the river banks as we navigated great sand bars that define the river. From Kaliabor to Marigaon, life moves with a warm, easy rhythm—chai stalls, bright saris, and endless smiles. Now we’ve reached Bawali and Budge Budge 2, where palm trees lean over wide waterways and evenings glow gold. More adventures (and plenty of photos!) coming soon!
