Postcard 005 Taj Mahal - A Love Story Written in Stone

Hey gang

We’re moving through India. We took a bicycle cab through Mumbai’s Chandni Chowk where 10 milion people move through acres of color, sound, and spice each day--literally bags of saffron, cumin, and turmeric by the tens of kilos!

Connaught Place is Mumbai (Bombay) at the height of the British Raj -- grand Victorian buildings look more like London than the sub-continent. Delhi is as riotous as its cousin city, both cities of contrasts where heaps of trash sit along side temples and palaces of jaw-dropping beauty.

Next came Amritsar, land of the Sikhs. We arrived just in time for the Guru's anniversary celebration at the city’s magnificent Golden Temple. One hundred thousand visitors routinely visit here a day as volunteers serve 30,000 free meals. Just for fun, locals wrapped a Sikh turban around my head and the crowd cheered when I twirled my mustache Sikh style! Finally, the Taj Mahal. You can only truly understand it’s beauty by standing in front of it. For more of India, visit my videos and photos at www.vagabond-adventure.com. We are filling the site up with a world of exploration.

Next stop: Jaipur and the Amber Fort. Until then, Namaste-the light in me honors the light in you.

Crack on! Chip and Cyn

This viral video explains the meaning of Namaste - an Indian greeting and goodbye.
