Handmade Spanish Leather Backpack
I was researching my article for National Geographic (“The First Artists”), when I came to the small town of Santillana, Spain near Altamira, location of some of the most remarkable cave art in the world. In the village I found Benito who fashions these beautiful leather products. I recently revisited him while in Spain for our Vagabond Adventure and arranged to bring some of his work to our store. I own a version of this backpack myself. I bought it seven years ago when I first met him. It’s served me beautifully. Soft, durable, distressed Spanish leather, handmade. 14” high; 12” wide; 4’ deep. Three exterior pockets if you need something quickly and a zipper pocket on the back for notebooks, phone or a small iPad. Buckles allow you adjust the straps, front buckle closes the flap. You can further close the top with its leather drawstrings. Reinforced stitching throughout. We have only one of these. Sorry.
