At the border of the Atacama Desert and Chile’s wine country lies the Elqui Valley and the Andes Mountains. It’s this range, and the clean, clear air that makes the region home to some of the world’s most powerful telescopes. From this mountain, I was able to capture the immensity of the land, the valley, its mountains and vineyards as the mists cleared shortly after sunrise. The mountains are several thousand feet high.
