It’s That Time of Year

It’s December and it turns out that December is a time around the world where people celebrate all sorts of holidays. Since our group of vagabonds has been growing, we want to wish everyone of you well. Name the place - Morocco, Spain, the United States, England, Chile, Germany, Belgium, Portugal, Belize, Peru, Panama, Mexico, Canada or the several other countries we have so far visited. We wish you happy St. Nicholas Day, Merry Christmas, a terrific Hanukkah, a lovely Nochebuena, the best St. Lucias Day ever, joyful Las Posadas, an enlightened Rohatsu, happy Krampusnacht, and a celebratory Kwanzaa. May each of you have a warm, restful and loving holiday wherever you are.

Quick Update

If you’ve been following us on social media and Polarsteps (see below), you can see us weaving our way through the long and lovely neck of South America. Our ship took us from Miami through the Panama Canal to Lima, Peru. Next we headed onward down the length of Peru, but not before we turned inland on the famous Andean Explorer train to Cusco and into the heart of the Incan Empire, an experience we will never forget. From there, we bent back west and south into Chile and have seen swinging back and forth between the Atacama Desert (the world’s driest place) and Chile’s breathtaking coastal cities.

Now we are in Valpariaiso, but from there we will dive farther south to explore Patagonia and its fjords and glaciers, the wild southern tip of South America, Tierra del Fuego (Land of Fire) and then board a ship to Antartica. I want to share these stories and people and places with you, so …

New Website

To better share the 49,000 miles and 270 locations we’ve traveled to so far we’ve created a new website: www.vagabond-adventure.com. I hope you’ll look at it and let us know what you think. How can we improve it?

An important part of the new site is to share the extraordinary locations we’ve been fortunate enough to visit in our featured photo gallery section. Many of these places are so spectacular that even I couldn’t mess them up :-). Occasionally, I even managed to deliver some real winners, and those are the ones we’ll be sharing.

If you’ve enjoyed some of the photos I’ve shared, maybe you’d like to buy some? It won’t cost you an arm and a leg. We have added a select number in the “Pictures and Images” section of the store. Consider downloading a favorite. All digital versions are high quality. Right now they’re on sale for $4.99, and you can print them out and frame them or send to friends as great holiday gifts or cards. Once you have the digital version, you have control of size and cropping too.

Books, Shirts, Notebooks, Leather Goods

If the images don’t do the trick for you, maybe you’d prefer some of the other goodies in our store? Christmas deadlines are getting tight, but our digital products can be delivered in seconds; great adventure books like The Worst Journey in the World and South by Ernest Shackleton.
